The bench press is and always will be the defining lift. People will always ask how much you bench and people will always want to be able to say that they bench a lot.
If you want to bench a lot of weight, there is one thing that you have to do……bench a lot of weight.
Doing hundreds of reps is not going to get you a killer bench press. Stop treating your bench press like a cardio routine.
If you want to bench press a lot of weight, you need to max out often. I do a 1 rep max with every bench session. Why? Simple, If you want to increase your maximum weight, you need to make your maximum routine.
Get your body used to consistently doing a high weight and eventually it will become easy and you can push through it to the next level. Simple as that.
