As a bodybuilder, the greatest thing in the world would be to make a living at it. Ideally this would mean being sponsored as a fitness model, but there are other ways. This is especially true if you have reached an advanced level of bodybuilding. If you have not, your best bet would be to find other ways to get $200. If you think you have what it takes, here are some ways to earn a living from bodybuilding.
- Become A Personal Trainer
This is pretty obvious but personal training is probably the way that most weight lifters make a living from this hobby. You have two ways that you can go with this. You can work for a major fitness gym chain or you can do it yourself. The easiest way is to work for the chain who will find you customers and pay you a regular wage. The harder route is to do it yourself. You would need to find your own clients and work out an arrangement with a gym where you can work out but the pay will be way more. If you go the second route, you need to be good and you need to be able to produce results so that your name spreads through referrals.
- Open A Gym
Many bodybuilders go on to open small local gyms that specialize in weight and power lifting. It is harder to compete with the large chains for general fitness but if you specialize, you can carve out a nice niche. It would allow you to have equipment that the major gyms do not provide and allow you to drop advice on clients from time to time.
- Become A Fitness Model
If you are young and have the right lean body, you might be able to create a career as a fitness model. All those magazines that you see and supplements need good looking people to put on the cover. You could be one of those models so go find yourself an agent.
- Blog About Weight Lifting
Starting a blog could make you a nice income. It might take years to create a nice income but if you keep at it, it can work. How do you make money from blogging? Simple, you place affiliate links to products that you like and when people purchase them through your link, you make a cut of the profit. Additionally, if your blog is popular, you might get direct sponsorship from bodybuilding companies.
- Become A Bodyguard
The best bodyguards are physically intimidating. Perhaps you can use all of that muscle you have built to protect somebody. This is particularly effective if you have some former military experience.
Making a living from your hobby is a great dream but for some it has actually become a reality. Do not be afraid to go after your dreams and you might be able to wake up every day to do something that you love.
